Autumn Watercolor/ pencil sketch

A few weeks back we went hiking at a nature preserve outside of the city; here's a sketch and a small watercolor piece that came from that outing.

I have said it many times that I sometimes love working on the roughs of pages more than the actual finished page. This is fun and helpful in working out problems, but sometimes it can be an excuse to never finish a project ( or start it!).

Here's a selection of sketches from the last few days. The thumbnail pages on the top are done on 4x6 blank index cards, and the rest are from 9x12 sketchbook.
