Sketch of The Day 5/16

Brush and Ink drawing of a character of mine. A Conniver. Bad news if you come across him.

Some ink-wash sketches of Batman villains; I have never drawn Hush before, it was a fun sketch to do. Joker is always fun to do and I dig the look of annoyance on Ra's Al ghul's face; one of those happy accidents that come with drawing.

Ink Wash Sketches 5/6/12

Here's some quick ink wash sketches of a few of my favorite characters; Phantom Stranger, Batman and Dr. Strange (looking curiously like Frank Zappa who was also a favorite character). I am working on getting more comfortable with black and white ink wash; somehow in my brain inking has been further away from my watercolor in technique and I want to treat them as more of the same, rather than putting them on different pedestals. 

Free Comic Book Day 2012 At Vigilante Press

I will be at Vigilante Press this Saturday May 5th giving away my 2 comics " Pipin' Hot Sampler", and "Obsessive Heart: Preludes" away for free! Come check out all the free comic offerings from the comic industry, and celebrate and perhaps, for the first time, explore the wonderful medium of comic.

Local  Chicago comic artists who will also be attending are Hilary Barta, John Ashton Golden, Andrew Kudelka and Jim Terry. We'll be doing sketches and filling the room with unbridled laughter.

Vigilante Press is located in the West Town neighborhood at  1931 W Chicago Ave. hours 12PM-9PM
